Wall Art

Walls are the largest surface in a home and the most neglected. These pieces are made to be read at eye level — grain, depth and shadow doing the work that paint cannot.

Hanging Guide

01

Eye Level

Centre the piece at 145–150 cm from the floor — gallery eye level. Above a sofa or console, leave 20–25 cm between the furniture and the piece.

02

Spacing and Threes

Group in odd numbers. Three pieces read as one composition; keep 5–8 cm between them so the wall reads as a single gesture, not scattered objects.

03

Light the Surface

Carved wood lives in raking light. A warm spot (2700–3000 K) angled about 30° from above draws out depth and grain. Flat front light erases it.

The Piano Hook

Five hooks. Seven notes. The positions map precisely to the Saptaswara, the seven notes of Indian classical music. A detail most visitors will never notice. The ones who do will never forget it. Sourced from solid Malaysian hardwood and finished with a matte oil coat, each hook is rated to hold 15kg, coats, bags, instruments. This is not decorative hardware; it is furniture that happens to be beautiful.

Circle of Life

Wall Planter

There is something about warm wood set against a dark wall. The circle behind this piece is the sun, backlit by a hidden LED, it appears to radiate rather than reflect. Three borosilicate test-tube planters are arranged in deliberate offset, an asymmetry that feels natural, like growth itself. The Hardwood and Fibre construction keeps the piece light enough for most walls without anchoring.

Tree of Life

Block Carved Planter

The tree is carved not by adding, but by taking away. This piece uses negative block carving: the surrounding wood is removed by hand, leaving the tree as it always was, waiting inside the slab. A warm white LED strip runs beneath the canopy, illuminating whatever is placed below, a succulent, a religious figurine, a favourite stone. The light is soft and directional, making the carving glow from within.

Vertical Zen Garden

Planter

We all deserve a little peace in our chaotic lives. The Vertical Zen Garden Planter is designed to bring exactly that, a quiet corner of intention into any living room. The stones are magnetic and repositionable, just as a traditional Zen garden allows you to rake and rearrange. This is not a static object; it is a daily practice in miniature.

Contours of Time

Mt. Fuji Timepiece

Representing time through the language of wood was the central challenge of this piece. Drawing from the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, the acceptance of impermanence and imperfection, this timepiece is a meditation on the landscape rather than the hour. Thin sheets of contrasting hardwood are carved and chiselled into mountain contours, with epoxy resin and natural sand filling the valleys to complete the scene. The result is something that reads as sculpture first, clock second.

Questions

About Wall Art

How high should I hang wall art?

Centre the piece at about 145–150 cm from the floor. Above furniture, leave 20–25 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the piece.

Can wooden wall art be hung on any wall?

Brick, concrete and plywood-backed drywall all work. Heavier pieces use a concealed cleat; we supply the hardware and guide the install. In Bangalore we can coordinate it directly.

Do the wall pieces need lighting?

Some are self-lit — the Vertical Zen Garden and Circle of Life have built-in warm LED. For carved pieces, a warm spotlight angled from above brings out the depth of the cut.

Will a wooden wall piece crack or warp?

All timber is kiln-dried and sealed on every face, which keeps movement to a minimum. Avoid hanging it directly above a heater, an AC vent or in strong afternoon sun.

Can you make wall art to a custom size or design?

Yes. Size, motif, wood and finish can all be specified. Bring a wall measurement and a reference image; we'll take it from there.

How long does a custom wall piece take?

Usually 2–4 weeks from a finalised brief, longer for deep carving or large formats. Shipping across India adds 3–5 days.
