Name Plates

Every home announces itself before you reach the door. We're building a range of handcrafted wood name plates — carved, routed, or inlaid — each made to last at the entrance of the home that ordered it.

Before You Commission

01

Give It Light

A name plate should read after dark. A small downlight, a concealed warm LED or a lit house number turns an entrance into a welcome rather than a guess.

02

Built for Weather

Entrances face sun, rain and dust. Dense hardwood, sealed edges and an exterior-grade finish keep the plate stable; a covered or shaded wall doubles its life.

03

Make It Yours

It is the first thing a guest reads about your home. Typeface, motif, language and wood are chosen with you, so the plate says something about the family behind the door.

Commission a Name Plate

Your name. Your entrance. Send the text, a photo of the door or gate, and we'll design around it.

Questions

About Name Plates

Can you make a custom name plate for my home?

Yes. Every name plate is designed for one home — your family name, house name or number, in a style that suits your entrance.

What can go on the name plate?

Family name, house name, flat or villa number, a symbol or motif.

Will a wooden name plate survive sun and rain?

It should preferably be kept away from direct rains and sun in the shade.

What size should a name plate be?

It depends on the door and wall. Apartment doors usually suit a smaller plate; villa gates and pillars take a larger one. We size it to be readable from where visitors stand.

Can it be lit?

Yes.

How is it fixed?

Simple drilled holes.

How long does a name plate take?

1 to 2 weeks.
