Consoles

Entryways set the tone before a single word is spoken. Our console tables are built for that threshold — pieces that float, anchor, or slide, depending on what the space demands.

Malhaar

Floating Console

Named after the monsoon raag — the raga that arrives without announcement and settles into something vast. Malhaar was born from a client who wanted their entryway to feel like a pause. Not a drop zone. A transition. The console floats. No visible hardware. A concealed cleat system holds it to the wall with a rigidity that belies how quiet it looks. The drawer slides on a hidden mechanism — handleless, flush, frictionless — the kind of detail you only notice when you reach for it.

Malhaar — commission case study

Case Study

The Entryway That Had to Do Everything

She had a narrow entryway, under 90 cm wide, that was doing too much — shoe drop, bag drop, key drop, and nothing to show for it. The brief was simple: make it feel intentional. She needed hidden storage, a surface that could hold an umbrella stand and a small plant, and a piece that didn't visually close the corridor.

Malhaar was the answer. Wall-mounted at 22 cm depth, with a concealed sliding drawer that disappears when not in use. The rubberwood grain runs horizontal across the full width — it draws the eye along the wall, not across it. The entryway now feels like the opening of a sentence, not a footnote.

Questions

About Consoles

What wood do you use for console tables?

Primarily sustainably sourced rubberwood — dense, stable, and beautiful in grain. Mango is used when the brief calls for more character. Both are kiln-dried and sealed with 3 coats of matte PU.

Can I get a console table with a specific length and depth?

Yes. Every console is built to your dimensions. Standard widths run 900–1200mm, depths 20–35cm, height 80–85cm. Unusual proportions are welcome — that's what the commission process is for.

How deep should an entryway console be?

For a standard foyer with over 1.2m clearance, 25–35cm works well. For corridors under 1.2m, 20–25cm keeps the passage comfortable. We'll advise during the brief.

Do you do wall-mounted consoles?

Yes. Malhaar is wall-mounted on a concealed cleat system — no visible bracket. We supply the hardware and installation instructions. For Bangalore, we can coordinate the install directly.

Can I add a drawer or hidden storage?

Yes. The sliding mechanism on Malhaar is a standard option and can be incorporated into any custom console brief.

How long does a console take to build?

3–4 weeks from finalised brief to dispatch. Bangalore installs are typically within a week of delivery.

Do you deliver outside Bangalore?

Yes, pan-India. Consoles are shipped flat-packed with all hardware included and an install guide.
